Evening of fun wit the Springmans

Sunday May 17th, 7:00 pm.

"When Jesus called the children to gather round, most people watching raised an eyebrow or two.

That just wasn’t done. It was unconventional. It was upside-down.

Cue The Springmans. With their home-grown, organic brand of feel-good pop and praise music, they’ve upended the convention and construct of traditional worship music with each track on their latest studio project, aptly titled Upside Down.

More than a collection of songs or a family jam session, Upside Down is a serious declaration of devotion made by young believers and their spiritually grounded father, Perry Springman, the former lead singer of international touring and recording Christian group Perry and the Poorboys, comprised of Canadians, Americans, Australians, Swedes, Finns, and Germans. Wrapped in legit, quality musicianship and production at every turn, Upside Down is a worthy follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed debut album, Happy Beach, which won the 2017 GMA Canada award for Children’s Album of the Year—a fitting award given the happy coincidence that launched the band in the first place. Food

In conjunction with Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, a group of us prepare PBJ sandwiches to be distributed to those in most need here in Kamloops. It started out being only a couple dozen but has now grown to more than 80 every week.  We meet Thursday mornings.

We also have an ongoing food donation program which is collected by the local Salvation Army.

Visitation

We engage in a visitation service providing support and inspiration to elderly people in our community. We visit them in their homes.

Bible Studies

The Ladies Bible Study usually meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 10:30am in the church’s education wing. Our new study begins May 6.

For this course we'll be using Lydia Brownback's book 'Psalms of Ascent': A 10-Week study on Psalms 120-134, the songs of worship used by God's people as they travelled together from their homes to their holy city of Jerusalem.

Journey in Isaiah: Weekly, Tuesday afternoons at 1:30 here at the church in the dining area. Please contact  Roger Plested for further information.

Feel free to contact the church office for more details on any of the above if necessary.

Thank you for participating.

Refresh

REFRESH is an outreach ministry involving small group sessions at a nearby elder care facility.

Each session encourages sharing Jesus among the participants. We intend to involve the participation of residents in as many ways as possible. These opportunities may include reading a prayer or Bible verse, participating in group discussions, choosing a song or simply talking about themselves.

REFRESH is easily adaptable to the cognitive and speech abilities of everyone present. Sometimes the discussions are quite lively and at other times the questions are simplified and the answers are one or two word replies.

What is paramount is that each individual feels welcomed, loved and listened to.

Men's Breakfast

On the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month several of our men folk gather together to share a breakfast meal, scripture readings and hearty fellowship. We meet at 9:00am. First-time attendees are warmly greeted.
